In this pre-lab lecture Andrew will share with you his tips and tricks on how he prepares his own pitches for an international market, what to avoid and how to tell and perform a story in a compelling way that leaves an impact on the listener.
He will be joined by 25 years’ experience, as Senior Vice President, Distribution & Acquisitions, Alix Wiseman from 9 Story who brings in her viewpoint on what is important when listening to a 5 minute pitch.
Andrew Kavanagh
CEO & Founder, Kavaleer Productions, Ireland
Andrew is a multi-award-winning experienced writer-director, producer and show-creator who takes pitching a serious discipline. His children’s TV shows can be seen in 23 languages in 140 countries worldwide and are watched every day by thousands of children.
His short films have won awards on three continents and have screened at hundreds of festivals. The company he founded, Kavaleer, is in its nineteenth year of business and produces content for BBC, Netflix, Nickelodeon and dozens of other terrestrial and cable broadcasters. Most recently, he has been adapting ‘The Pomegranate Tree’ by Vanessa Altin as an animated feature film.
Alix Wiseman

An international media professional with over 25 years’ experience, as Senior Vice President, Distribution & Acquisitions, Alix Wiseman is responsible for heading up 9 Story’s sales operations and sourcing 3rd party content worldwide. Her remit also includes securing financing for 9 Story’s new IP’s and working closely with development to shape them for the international market.
